SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- First-year Linnea Alsted scored her first two collegiate goals and the Mount Holyoke College field hockey team outshot visiting Regis College 31-2 in a 4-1 non-conference win for the Lyons Thursday night.

Graduate student Laurissa Montigny (Enfield, Conn.) and junior Sophia Guziewicz (Enfield, N.H.) also scored for Mount Holyoke, which rose to 6-0 all-time against the Pride (1-8).

Mount Holyoke scored first on a penalty corner in the sixth minute, when sophomore Anna Induni's (Manchester, N.H.) shot from the top of the circle was tipped at waist level by Guziewicz on its way to the back of the net. Induni recorded her team-high fourth assist and the goal was Guziewicz's second.

The Lyons made it 2-0 with 3:01 left in the first half, as junior Jayonna Montigny (Enfield, Conn.) sent a cross from the right side that was tipped by senior Amanda Thibodeau (Lebanon, N.H.) and then knocked in on the weak side by Laurissa Montigny, who tallied her team-high ninth goal of the season.

After a dominant first half resulted in only a two-goal lead, Mount Holyoke struck again for two more goals in the first eight minutes of the second half, both by Alsted (Crownsville, Md.) and both on penalty corners.

Just 1:07 into the third quarter, Alsted took the insertion pass from Jayonna Montigny and maneuvered patiently around a Regis defender before cracking a low shot that eluded the Pride defense.

Seven minutes later, Alsted scored again, with Laurissa Montigny earning an assist for teeing up Alsted's shot and Jayonna Montigny also getting an assist for the insertion pass.

Regis forward Frankie Alley scored against a collapsed Mount Holyoke defense with 13:03 remaining in the game, Alley's team-high eighth goal of the season.

Junior goalie Rachel Katzenberg (Reisterstown, Md.) had one save in the victory, while Allayna Martone had 11 saves for the Pride.

The Lyons (7-4) next host Clark University in a NEWMAC contest on Saturday at 12pm.
