Coklow Competes at Open New England Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Junior sprinter Camille Coklow was in action for the Mount Holyoke College track & field team on Friday afternoon at the 2015 Open New England Championships, hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The event, which features competitors from all division levels, saw Coklow place ninth overall.

The Chicago, Ill., native posted a time of 12.22 in the event. That mark tied her with New Haven's Marshae Holt. Despite the outstanding time, Coklow did not advance due to the smallest of fractions.

Since only the top four in each heat and the next four top times advance, the duo went into a head-to-head tiebreaker, which saw Holt have a 12.212, while Coklow recorded a 12.216.

It was an outstanding effort for the former Latin School of Chicago standout, who was the top Division III performer in the event.

The action continues for Coklow and senior Dana Fry next weekend as the pair head to Springfield College to compete in the 2015 ECAC Championships. Action begins on Thursday and concludes on Friday.
