Coklow Headed to Track & Field National Championships

OFFICIAL NCAA RELEASE / MEET SCHEDULE

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The NCAA has announced the participant field for the 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships and Mount Holyoke College student-athlete Camille Coklow is among those that qualified in the 60-meter dash.  The championships will be held this Friday and Saturday at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Coklow, a native of Chicago, Ill., is one of 17 to participate in the 60-meter dash. Her qualifying time of 7.71 has her ranked ninth in the field. She posted her qualifying time at the ECAC Championships last weekend, where she won the event title.

A former standout at the Latin School of Chicago, Coklow has endured a tough season, battling through injury to get back to the top of the podium. This season, she has finished eighth or better in the 60-meter dash in six meets, including five top-five finishes. In addition to her victory at the ECAC Championships, she also won the event at the Smith Invitational with a time of 7.89.

Coklow also placed second in the 60-dash at the Wesleyan Invitational (7.94), fifth at the Dartmouth Indoor Classic (7.84) and third at the Division III New England Championships (7.84).

This is the second appearances at the Indoor Nationals for Coklow, who went to the meet as a first year. During that season, she recorded multiple school records and was a participant in a number of championship meets. One of her top outings came at the New England Division III Championships, where she finished second overall in the 55-meter dash and garnered All-New England honors.

Coklow, who is the school record holder in the 60-meter dash (7.71) and the 100-meter dash (11.93) in the outdoor records, has also participated at the Outdoor National Championships in back-to-back years (2013 & 2014).

The 60-meter dash is scheduled for Friday at 3:30pm, while the finals will take place on Saturday at 3:15pm. The top eight competitors earn All-America in each event.
