"Lyon of the Week" Award Goes to Track and Field's Larson-Koester
Sophomore track and field team member Miriam Larson-Koester has been named “Lyon of the Week” for the week of April 5-11. The captain grabbed top honors in both the discus and the hammer throw at the non-scoring Eastern Connecticut State University Invitational on Friday. She posted a distance of 31.36 meters in the discus and 35.90 meters in the hammer. Larson-Koester also competed in the shot put, taking third place with a distance of 9.10 meters. She had previously qualified for both the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships in the discus. She will also be representing Mount Holyoke at the New England Regional Championships in the shot put.
