Tennis Secures Third Place at Seven Sisters ChampionshipApril 15, 2012The 2012 Seven Sisters Tennis Championship concluded today with five more matches at Mount Holyoke. Vassar pulled out a thrilling 3-2 triumph over Wellesley in the final contest of the day to secure its 10th title. The Lyons topped Smith 4-1 to clinch third place for the third straight year.

2012 Seven Sisters Tennis Championship (Day 1)April 14, 2012The 2012 Seven Sisters Tennis Championship kicked off today with five matches at Mount Holyoke. Reigning champion Wellesley picked up right where it left off in 2011, blanking both the Lyons and Smith. After rolling to a 5-0 triumph over Bryn Mawr, Mount Holyoke fell 5-0 to Wellesley. The tournament will conclude with five more matches tomorrow.

Mount Holyoke Set to Host 2012 Seven Sisters Tennis ChampionshipApril 12, 2012Mount Holyoke is set to host the 2012 Seven Sisters Tennis Championship this weekend. The Lyons will be joined at the annual event by Bryn Mawr, Smith, Vassar and Wellesley. Tournament play is slated to begin on Saturday and conclude on Sunday. Wellesley claimed its 12th title last season with a 4-0 record.

Tennis Team Head Coach Aldo Santiago Named Posse 3 MentorFebruary 09, 2012Longtime tennis team head coach Aldo Santiago was recently selected to serve as mentor for Mount Holyoke's third class of Posse Foundation scholars. Mount Holyoke began partnering with the Posse Foundation to admit students from high schools in Miami three years ago. This year's group of 10 will begin taking classes in September.

NEWMAC Announces Fall Academic All-Conference SquadsNovember 10, 2011The NEWMAC recently announced its 2011 Fall Academic All-Conference Teams. Twenty-three Mount Holyoke student-athletes were recognized for their achievements in their respective sports as well as in the classroom. Academic All-Conference Teams were selected for the sports of cross country, field hockey, soccer, tennis and volleyball.

Tennis Team Set to Host Youth ClinicsOctober 26, 2011The Mount Holyoke tennis team will be hosting youth tennis clinics during the first two weeks of November. During the clinics, boys and girls ages 8-12 will learn the basics of the forehand, the backhand and the serve. The participants will be grouped by age, ability and experience. In addition to participating in drills and games, they will take part in dynamic warm-up and eye-hand coordination exercises.

Both players prevailed at singles and doubles for the Lyons, who snapped a five-match slide and earned their first NEWMAC win of the season. It was their fourth straight triumph over the Pioneers.
