Williamson Shoulders Defeat in CSA Individual Championships Opener

Stamford, Conn. - Sophomore Brandy Williamson represented the Lyons squash team on Friday in the opening round of the 2016 CSA Individual Championships. The event is taking place at the Chelsea Piers Club, running through Sunday.

Williamson, who hails from New York, N.Y., squared off against Brown University's Quincy Beck in the Main Draw opener. Despite a strong effort, she fell against Beck in a 3-0 decision. After suffering an 11-1 opening loss in game one, Williamson battled back but fell 11-9 in the second game. Beck grabbed an 11-7 victory in the third to take the match.

It marked the second match-up of the season for the pair, who squared off on January 31 in a neutral site contest.

Williamson returns to action on Saturday in the consolation round where she will battle Middlebury's Tiffany Hau at 10:20am.
