SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - The Mount Holyoke College squash team got victories in each section of the lineup, but it wasn't enough as Dickinson College held strong for a 6-3 win in the opening match of day two at the Pioneer Valley Invitational. The Lyons, who fell to Hamilton by a 9-0 margin in the evening session, slip to 3-7 on the season.

Junior Amanda Lee earned her second straight PVI win on Saturday morning, posting a 3-0 win over Dickinson's Freddie Bancroft. She won by a score of 11-3, 11-8 and 11-8 from the ninth position.

At the fifth position, sophomore Emily Chang picked up the Lyons second point as she rallied for a 3-1 win over Sarah Murphy. After winning the opening game by an 11-8 margin, Chang found herself in a tie as Murphy took the second frame, 11-6. Chang rallied for an 11-9 game three win and held off Murphy in the fourth as she won 13-11.

Mount Holyoke's final point of the match came from the first position as sophomore Brandy Williamson took down Nicole DeLuca. After a tight opening game, which saw Williamson post a 12-10 win, she was able to cruise for 11-3 and 11-6 wins over the final two games for the victory.

In total, the Lyons fought hard as four contests were a 3-1 margin.

Against Hamilton, MHC saw two of their matches go to a 3-1 decision. Performing well was Williamson. Despite winning the opening game by an 11-8 margin, she was unable to fend off Rachel Newman at the first position, falling 11-8, 8-11, 10-12, 1-11.

Also competing strong was senior Catherine Ryan, who battled back after a 5-11 loss in the opener to defeat Rafi Ouro Aguy 12-10 in the second frame. She was unable to fend off the Continentals number four, falling 11-4 and 11-7 in the final two games.

The Lyons return to action on Sunday at 12:30pm when they close out the weekend against Haverford.
