THE MATCHUP: Saturday's game marks the sixth meeting between the Lyons and the Chargers from Colby-Sawyer. Mount Holyoke currently owns the series advantage by a 4-1-0 margin, which dates back to the 1982 season. Last year, Colby-Sawyer grabbed their first victory, claiming a 4-0 win on September 8. The Lyons won the 2011 meeting by a score of 2-1.
THE MOUNT HOLYOKE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (0-0, 0-0 NEWMAC) is off to a hot start after posting early victories over Nichols (2-0) and Lyndon State (4-0). The Lyons have been led offensively by a number of players, including junior forward/midfielder Cassidy Robinson, who boasts a team-best two goals for four points. Sophomore forward Ashleigh Hartsock (1 goal, 2 assists) also owns a team-high mark in points with four. In goal, a pair of rookies have each earned victory to get things going as Zoe Marshall recorded six saves against the Bison, while Alyssa Tabrisky made five stops against the Hornets. For her efforts, Marshall was named the NEWMAC Defensive Performer of the Week honoree on Tuesday.
THE COLBY-SAWYER CHARGERS: Colby-Sawyer (3-0, 0-0 NAC) has opened the season with three straight wins. The Chargers most recently defeated Norwich by a 5-1 margin, scoring three goals in the opening half and two to close out the second stanza. Senior midfielder Adrienne Bender leads the team in scoring with three goals for six points, while in goal, sophomore Karley Hamilton has earned all three victories and has made nine saves.
NEXT UP: The Lyons return to action on Tuesday when they host nationally-ranked Amherst at 7pm. The Engineers also return on Tuesday, hosting St. John Fisher at 5pm.
