BABSON PARK, Mass.—Senior Emily Bresnahan (Wenham, Mass.) and junior Lyndsey Giroux (Westwood, Mass.) both scored four goals as Babson College powered past visiting Mount Holyoke College, 15-4, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's lacrosse action on Sunday afternoon at MacDowell Field.
Babson, which snapped a two-game skid, improves to 4-4 overall and 1-0 in conference play, while Mount Holyoke slips to 2-7 overall and 0-2 in the NEWMAC.
Junior Charlotte O'Halloran (Middletown, R.I.) finished with two goals and four assists, while classmate Julia Harrigan (Portsmouth, R.I.) and first-year Taylor Herrmann (Mahwah, N.J.) both scored twice for the Beavers. Harrigan also contributed three draw controls and two ground balls in the win.
Junior Leila Kouakou (Leeds, Mass.) finished with two goals, three draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers for the Lyons. Senior captain Charlotte Wagner (West Chester, Pa.) added a goal with 6:42 to go, becoming the 14th player in program history to achieve 100 career points, while sophomore attacker Mazzie Meotti (South Glastonbury, Conn.) also had a goal. Defensively, junior captain Julian Lankin (West Hartford, Conn.) had two ground balls and two draw controls, while senior captain Taylor Hough (Rutland, Vt.) added a ground ball and a caused turnover.
O'Halloran was involved in each of the first six goals as the Green and White built a 6-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the contest. Giroux completed her hat trick to extend the margin to eight at the 14:10 mark, and Bresnahan tallied back-to-back goals less than two minutes apart to make it 10-0 with 11:41 to go until halftime.
Giroux notched her fourth goal of the opening half with 6:36 to go and Herrmann got on the board at the 2:14 mark to give the Beavers a 12-0 lead at the break. Herrmann scored again just 1:08 into the second half and Harrigan scored consecutive markers as Babson took its biggest lead of the afternoon at 15-0 with 21:07 remaining.
Kouakou scored Mount Holyoke's first goal with 17:31 left and then buried a free-position chance with 7:52 to go as the Lyons scored three times over the final eight minutes. Wagner made it a 15-3 score with 6:42 to go and the Lyons closed out the game's scoring with just over two minutes to play on Meotti's tally.

Senior Stevie Burger (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) made two saves to earn her second win of the year for the Green and White, while senior Isa Rodriguez (Columbus, Ohio) and first-year Mia Wysocki (Longmeadow, Mass.) combined to make seven saves for the Lyons. Junior Clarissa Leight also played for MHC, allowing no goals while not being forced to make a save over the final 9:06 of the game.
The Beavers finished with the edge in ground balls (18-14) and draw controls (13-8).
Both teams return to action on Wednesday as Babson visits Emerson at 6 p.m., while the Lyons travel to Wheaton at 7 p.m.
