Mount Holyoke College equestrian team coach C.J. Law is known as a legend both around the college and in the sport horse world. You don't have to take our word for it -- it's right in the title of an excellent feature story about her published in the October 24 & 31 issue of The Chronicle of the Horse.

"Living Legend: C.J. Law," written by Kelsey Baker for the venerable publication, takes an in-depth look at Law's life and how she came to lead Mount Holyoke's championship-laden equestrian program for nearly 40 years. Baker also delves into the details of what makes Law successful.

"With nearly 40 years as the hunt seat coach for Mount Holyoke College, and countless Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association wins, the real secret to her coaching success is found outside the riding arena," Baker writes. "She prepares her riders for life after college, bolstering their confidence, improving their teamwork, and encouraging them to think outside the riding arena."

The Chronicle of the Horse, billed as "America's most trusted source for horse news and equestrian lifestyle since 1937," reports a reach of more than 250,000 sport horse enthusiasts each week.

Mount Holyoke will host its first home show of the regular season this Saturday at the Equestrian Center, beginning at 9am.
