The Mount Holyoke College cross country team boasted a solid season in 2013, guided by third-year head coach Jennifer Adams. The Lyons ran to three top-10 finishes and were 24th or better in all eight meets.

MHC was paced by junior captain Dana Fry and sophomore Elizabeth DeLeon, who combined as top finishers in each race. Fry was the Lyons' top runner in six meets, while DeLeon led the Mount Holyoke pack in two.

Fry helped kick-off the 2013 season at the Smith College Invitational, finishing 13th overall to lead the Lyons to 11th as a team. MHC then headed to Franklin Pierce and performed well with a sixth-place finish. Fry once again led the way, finishing second overall in a field of 120 competitors. For her efforts, Fry was named the NEWMAC Runner of the Week.

Following a 15th-place finish at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational, the Lyons competed in a pair of non-scoring meets. At the Keene State Invitational, Fry finished 12th overall, while at the Open New England Championships, DeLeon was 70th in a large field of runners.

Mount Holyoke kicked-off the final stretch of competition at the Seven Sisters Championship, placing sixth as a team behind a 12th-place run from Fry. The Lyons then took eighth at the NEWMAC Championship, before concluding the season with a 24th-place mark at the NCAA New England Championship. DeLeon paced the MHC effort in that race, crossing the line in 92nd out of 371 runners.

The Lyons also continued to shine academically as Fry, junior Elizabeth Baker, sophomores Madaline McNally and Rosalind Waltz-Peters, and junior Zoe Weizenbaum were named to the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team.
