Cross Country Finishes 15th at UMass-Dartmouth Invitational

DARTMOUTH, Mass. - Junior captain Dana Fry paced the Mount Holyoke College cross country team on Saturday at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational. In a field of 29 teams, the Lyons placed 15th overall, aided by Fry's 18th place finish in the field of 207 runners.

Fry posted a time of 19:16.52 in the 5k event and was followed by senior captain Lucia Garcia, who navigated the course in a time of 20:52.56 to finish 78th overall. Junior Liz Baker was close behind, placing 92nd on the afternoon with a mark of 21:06.31. Sophomore Hillary Detert posted a time of 21:25.05 to finish 106th overall, while junior Zoe Weizenbaum was 115th with a time of 21:31.64.

Rounding out the solid efforts for the Lyons was first year Emma Tolerton, who placed 146th overall with a time of 22:32.00.

Rowan won today's meet with score of 45. Brandeis (51), Keene State (113), Wheaton (162) and Trinity (194) round out the top five finishers in the team event.

Mount Holyoke is idle next week, but returns to action on October 5 when it travels to Keene State for an 11am start.
