Cross Country Competes at 2013 Seven Sisters Championship

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Led by a 12th-place finish from junior captain Dana Fry, the Mount Holyoke College cross country team finished sixth overall at the 2013 Seven Sisters Championships, hosted by Smith College on Saturday morning. The Lyons saw four runners finish in the top-50 of today's event.

Fry (Avon, Conn./Miss Porter's School) posted a time of 19:55.3 in today's race, which featured seven teams and 106 participants. She was followed by sophomore Elizabeth DeLeon (Boise, Idaho/Timberline), who was 22nd overall with a time of 20:15.2, while junior Liz Baker (Orlando, Fla./Bishop Moore Catholic School) finished 49th with a mark of 21:34.6.

Sophomore Hillary Detert (Brunswick, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy) was 50th with a time of 21:39.8, while first year Briana Weir (Rome, N.Y./Rome Free Academy) was 60th overall, posting a time of 21:55.9.

First year Emma Tolerton (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery) came across the line with a time of 22:58.4 – good for 74th overall – while junior Zoe Weizenbaum (Amherst, Mass./Pioneer Valley Performing Arts) was 75th with a time of 23:02.0. Rounding out the solid efforts was Rosalind Waltz-Peters (Rutland, Mass./Wachusett Regional), who was 80th with a time of 23:40.5.

Mount Holyoke returns to action next Saturday when it competes at the Open New England Championships, which will take place in Boston.
