THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke hosts New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) foe Wheaton College Saturday afternoon at the Mount Holyoke Tennis Courts. THE MOUNT HOLYOKE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (2-5, 2-3 NEWMAC) claimed its second win of the season on Tuesday, when it routed Clark University 9-0. Natalie Hsiang, Elise Marifian, Maya Sayarath and Sarah Moore each posted wins at both singles and doubles to lead the way. Sayarath has compiled a 6-1 singles record to set the tone for the Lyons. Over the past two weeks, she has accumulated five straight triumphs. The first year has teamed up with Marifian for three victories at the number three doubles position. Meanwhile, Hsiang and Moore have also accumulated three wins at number one doubles. Nahrhee Han and Moore have contributed three singles victories apiece, while Marifian and Heather Richardson have each prevailed twice.
THE WHEATON LYONS: Wheaton (7-1, 5-0 NEWMAC) has exploded out of the gate, winning seven of its first eight matches. The Lyons have been perfect in five NEWMAC contests. They have been paced by Lyndsay Cooke, who has amassed a perfect 8-0 mark in singles play. Seven of her wins have come at the number three slot. Allesandra DiOrio has also gone undefeated in singles, with four of her five victories coming at the number four position. The Lyons have dropped just one doubles match this season. Sarah Geocaris and Catherine Teague have teamed up to post a flawless 8-0 record at the number one spot, while Cooke and Madison Hartley have recorded the same mark at the number two position.
NEXT UP: Mount Holyoke will wrap up its NEWMAC slate on Tuesday, when it visits Springfield College at 4:00 p.m. Meanwhile, Wheaton will entertain Colby College tomorrow at 11:00 a.m.
