SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Amherst College posted key victories across the ladder enroute to an 8-1 win over Mount Holyoke College in the regular season home finale for MHC. With the victory, the Jeffs improve to 8-5 on the season, while the Lyons slip to 4-14 overall.

In addition to the final regular season home game, the Lyons also honored their three seniors prior to the match, including Katie Block, Samantha Rosado and Xianger Fei.

MHC saw its lone victory come in the fifth flight as Fei posted a 3-1 (11-7, 11-8, 3-11, 11-9) score against Khushy Aggarwal. The Lyons also saw another tough match from the seventh position as first year Emily Change battled back from being down 2 games to capture the third by an 11-9 score. Her opponent Izzy Derber struck back in the fourth to capture the match 3-1 (11-4, 11-1, 9-11, 11-7). 

The Lyons are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Cambridge, Mass., to compete in the 2015 Seven Sisters Championship. The event will be hosted by Wellesley College at the Harvard University courts. The Jeffs are also in action this weekend, traveling to Williams to compete in the 2015 NESCAC Championships.
