With ninth year head coach Shawn Durocher leading the way, the Mount Holyoke golf team took part in 10 events during the 2009-10 season.

The Lyons participated in five tournaments during the fall. Sophomore Alexandra Irish set the tone, posting fifth place at the Middlebury College Invitational and 13th place at the Williams College Fall Classic Invitational.

After opening its season at the Dartmouth College Invitational, Mount Holyoke hosted its annual Invitational the following weekend. Junior Aliza Hanif turned in a brilliant performance, finishing in fifth place overall with a two day score of 161 on the par-72 course.

The Lyons followed that with third place showing at Middlebury. In addition to Irish's fifth place finish, Hanif secured seventh place overall. The team took home fourth place at Williams one week later before closing out their fall slate with a fifth place showing at Wellesley College's Ann S. Batchelder Invitational. Junior Sarah Keating recorded a two day score of 81 to take second place at the event.

Mount Holyoke competed in five more tournaments in the spring. Irish continued her strong play, taking top team honors four times. Keating and senior Tiffany Shute also posted outstanding results.

The Lyons kicked off their spring slate with a 14th place showing at the Jekyll Island Invitational in Georgia. Out of the 129 competing individuals, Irish collected 14th place with a three day score of 244. She was at it again at the Vassar College Invitational, where she secured seventh place.

Mount Holyoke returned home for the Massachusetts State Invitational on April 16. Despite top ten finishes from Keating (5th) and Irish (8th), the Lyons ended the day in third place.

The Lyons closed out their season with eighth place finishes at both the Jack Leaman Championship and Williams Spring Invitational. Irish's two round tally of 164 was good for eighth place overall at the Leaman Championship. Meanwhile, Shute capped off her collegiate career with a hole-in-one on the 14th hole at Williams. Par for the 149-yard hole was set at three.
