SETTING THE SCENE: Mount Holyoke welcomes the Engineers of MIT Tuesday in the 47th mathcup between the two programs dating back to 1982 that saw a 2-0 win by the Lyons. MIT holds a 41-6 advantage over MHC, winning the last 20. The Lyons last win came in 1999, winning by a 3-0 margin.

THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (2-5; 0-2 NEWMAC) comes into Tuesday's match after shouldering a 3-0 loss to conference foe, Emerson College. Sophomore middle hitter Joy Maran led the way with 11 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Jamesa Allen was close behind with eight. Sophomore libero Cameron Graham posted a match high 14 digs and also tacked on three assists. Through seven matches, Allen and Moran have spearheaded the Lyons attack, leading the team with 53 kills a piece. Senior captain Natalie Lyon leads the team with 162 assists.

The ENGINEERS: MIT (9-2; 2-0 NEWMAC) enters the match on a seven-game win streak besting Springfield College, 3-1 in its most recent win. Senior outside hitter and captain Megan Gebhard led the game with 18 kills while also earning two block assists. Gebhard is the team leader with 122 kills, good for fourth in the NEWMAC. Sophomore setter Christina Liao leads the conference in assists per set with 9.52.

UP NEXT: Following today's match, MHC stays at home to face conference foe Wheaton College on Saturday at 1pm. MIT is set to head back home Thursday to face UMass Boston at 6pm.
