Miriam Esber enters her 15th season as head coach of the Mount Holyoke College lacrosse team. In addition to her coaching duties, Esber also teaches several classes within the department, and currently serves as the Chair of Physical Education.

At Mount Holyoke College

  • Two-time NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Coach of the Year 
  • Has had student-athletes earn 33 NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honors, awarded to student-athletes that have obtained second-year status at their institution and has produced a grade-point average of 3.5 or better.
  • 21 student-athletes have been named to the NEWMAC All-Conference teams and five went on to be named All-Region student-athletes.
  • Helped senior captain Leila Kouakou became the 15th player in program history to record 100 career points in 2018.
  • Claimed the ECAC title in 2013 after defeating Western New England 17-16.
  • Helped Julia Bell earn NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Year honors in 2013.

Before Mount Holyoke College

  • Served as the head coach of the Hartwick College women's lacrosse team (2005-07) and guided the Hawks to 20 wins in three years. Also won the NYSWCAA Championship
  • Held assistant coaching positions at Ithaca College (2003-04) and Endicott College (2002-03).
  • In 2004, helped lead Ithaca to the Empire 8 Championship and trip to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

Playing Career

  • A two-time All-American and three-time All-Conference selection at The College of Wooster
  • Was named team captain and was invited to play in the North/South Senior All Star Game in her senior year.

Personal

  • After earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wooster in 2002, Esber went on to attain her Master of Science Degree in sport science from Ithaca in 2004. She is a graduate of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy.
