THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke opens a three-game homestand and its NEWMAC schedule on Wednesday, welcoming the Lions of Emerson College to the Turf Field. It marks the third all-time meeting between the two programs, dating back to the first contest in 2014 - a 13-12 MHC win in four overtimes. The Lyons of Mount Holyoke have won both previous meetings, including a 9-6 victory in Boston last season.   

THE LYONS:
Mount Holyoke (1-4, 0-0 NEWMAC) is coming off a tough 18-9 loss at Skidmore on Saturday, which saw senior captain Julia Bell record a game-best five goals, while classmate and fellow captain Catherine Ryan added a game-high three assists. In goal, junior Isa Rodriguez recorded 16 saves, including 11 in the first half of action.

MOVING ON UP:
Lyons senior captain and attacker Catherine Ryan moved into the top spot in the NEWMAC in assists, currently owning 17 helpers on the season. The next closest opponent among conference rivals has 14 assists. Additionally, senior captain and attacker Julia Bell moved into second on the conference's list of top goal scorers. Currently, Bell has 22 markers on the season, just one shy of the NEWMAC lead.

THE LIONS:
Emerson (4-3, 0-0 NEWMAC) comes into Wednesday's match following an 11-8 loss against Union (N.Y.) on Saturday. Senior midfield Kate Lemire and junior middie Meredith Weber each recorded two goals in the defeat, while sophomore Kristina Modica notched 11 saves for Emerson.

NEXT UP:
Mount Holyoke returns to action on Saturday when it welcomes Babson at 12pm. Emerson is also back on the field on Saturday, traveling to Northampton for a 1pm match at Smith.
