NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) has released its weekly awards and Mount Holyoke College student-athlete Kate Karraker was named to the Weekly Honor Roll after her performance last week.

A junior guard from Morgantown, W.V., Karraker helped MHC to a 1-1 record last week, averaging a team-best 19.0 points per game. She also added a 4.0 rebounding average with three assists and two steals over a squad-high 39.0 minutes per game.

In a 43-38 victory at WPI - the team's first over the Engineers since 2007 - Karraker dropped in a game-best 19 points, including a 5-for-9 performance from three-point range. She also added an assist and two steals. Karraker then poured in another 19 points, going 5-for-11 from beyond the arc, in a 76-56 loss to Wheaton. Additionally, Karraker was perfect on all free throw chances (4-4) .

A starter in all four games thus far, Karraker leads the team in scoring, averaging 17.0 points per game. In addition to a 4.5 rebounding average, she is the squad leader in assists with 10 and is the team's top minutes getter with 39.0 minutes per game average. A captain, she currently ranks second among the NEWMAC leaders in points per game.

Last season, Karraker finished third on the squad with 9.7 points per game. She ranked second in assists with 46 and also added 22 steals while appearing in all 23 games. Karraker averaged 2.3 points per game and appeared in 23 games during her first year at Mount Holyoke.

A former standout at the Taft School (Conn.), Karraker was a member of the basketball team during her high school career. In addition to serving as captain, she was the team's Most Valuable Player, helping her squad win the Founders League Championship.

Mount Holyoke (3-1; 1-1 NEWMAC) is back on the court tonight when it hosts Clark University at 5:30pm at the Mildred S. Howard Gymnasium.
