Larson-Koester Turns in Another Impressive Performance at New England Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (May 12, 2012) – Senior Miriam Larson-Koester turned in yet another impressive performance in the discus this afternoon at the New England Championships. The three-day event took place at MIT and featured the top individuals from all three NCAA Divisions.

Larson-Koester earned All-New England honors with her sixth place toss of 42.06 meters. In the process, she shattered her own school record and put Mount Holyoke College in 32nd place overall with three points. This is the second time in her career that she's earned All-New England accolades.

A total of 35 schools posted points at the event. The University of Rhode Island raced to the team title with 109 points. The Rams were followed by the University of New Hampshire (73) and the University of Vermont (59) in the final standings.

Larson-Koester will represent the Lyons at the ECAC Championships next week at RPI. The two-day meet is slated to begin on Thursday and conclude on Friday.
