#27 Squash Suffers Tough Loss at #14 Williams

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Mount Holyoke College squash team opened a busy slate of action on Friday afternoon, shouldering a 9-0 loss on the road to Williams College. The #14 Ephs improved to 7-7 on the season, while the #27 Lyons moved to 4-3 overall.

From the top to the bottom of the ladder, the Ephs saw Nicole Friedman best Brandy Williamson at one by an 11-3, 11-5, 11-7 margin. At two, Hayley Parsons defeated MHC's Ragini Ghose, 11-6, 11-5, 11-5. Williams' Julia Ward grabbed the victory at three, posting an 11-2, 11-7, 11-1 win against Emily Chang, while from four, Esther Baek clipped the Lyons' Lessly Portillo, 11-2, 11-2, 11-0.

At the fifth position, Abby LeBlanc battled to an 11-4, 11-4, 11-3 win over MHC's Jennifer Mbah, while Melissa Swann earned an 11-0, 11-3, 11-1 advantage over Tanishka Sachidanand. From seven, Sarah Willwerth earned an 11-2, 11-4, 11-1 win over MHC's Kuzuvakwashe Madungwe, while Caroline Hogan was an 11-3, 11-1, 11-1 victor over Emma Robson. Rounding out the action at nine was Anna Nicholson, who bested Nicole Lara Granados, 11-2, 11-4, 11-2.

Mount Holyoke returns to action on Saturday when it opens Pioneer Valley Invitational action at Amherst College. The Lyons take on Dickinson at 8am and faces Connecticut College at 4pm.
