Marina McDonald (Northampton, Mass.) of the riding team has been selected as the Mount Holyoke College Athletics "Lyon of the Week" after a fantastic performance in her first collegiate show this past weekend.
McDonald, a first-year International Relations major at Mount Holyoke College, won the Low Medal Class Championship at the Preseason Tournament of Champions, hosted at UConn's Horsebarn Hill Arena on Saturday. McDonald had a lovely ride in the second split of the Low Medal flat phase, as the Northampton, Mass. product proceeded to the jumping phase in her first collegiate competition. McDonald then went on to earn the Champion title in the Low Medal Class at day's end.
