Cortney Qiu (Winter Springs, Fla.) of the golf team has been selected as the Mount Holyoke College Athletics "Lyon of the Week" following a standout performance at the Ann S. Batchelder Invitational, hosted at Nehoiden Golf Club this past weekend.
Qiu, a sophomore at Mount Holyoke College, helped the Lyons to a fifth-place finish at the Ann S. Batchelder Invitational this past weekend, as she posted a career-low 74 (+2) in the first round and followed up with an 80 in the final round to finish in a tie for fifth among some of the top competitors in the region. Qiu was one of the best student-athletes on Par 4's over the course of the tournament as she had a 4.10 scoring rating and finished +2 on those holes. Qiu also had a team-best three birdies, which were all on Saturday, and 22 pars over the two-day tournament.
