Rowing Competes at Coast Guard

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Mount Holyoke College rowing team was back in the water on Saturday afternoon, taking on the United States Coast Guard Academy on the Thames River. The Lyons saw both the varsity eight and the novice eight finish second on the afternoon.

The varsity eight finished second in their race, posting a time of 7:58.00. The Bears crossed the line with a time of 7:36.31. In the novice race, Coast Guard's varsity eight (as they didn not have a novice boat) made a slight lineup change and raced the MHC novice boat. 

Coast Guard crossed the finish line with a time of 7:56.64, while the Lyons were second with a time of 8:48.46.

Mount Holyoke now gets set for its championship next Saturday as it heads to Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester. The NEWMAC Championship will begin at 8:30am.
