Rowing Finishes 16th at the 50th Annual Head of the Charles Regatta

BOSTON, Mass. - The Mount Holyoke College rowing team made its return to the Charles River on Sunday, competing in the 50th annual Head of the Charles Regatta. The competition saw the Lyons varsity eight place 16th in the Collegiate Eight Division.

MHC crossed the finish line with a time of 18:29.255, which was ahead of several NEWMAC-rivals including WPI (20TH), Coast Guard (21st) and Smith (26th). The Lyons were just over a second behind conference-foe Simmons, which posted 15th with a time of 19:28.181.

Bates College cruised to the title with a time of 17:25.603. The Bobcats were followed by Trinity College (17:27.371) and Wellelsey College (17:42.663. A total of 30 teams from around the country were included in the field.

The Lyons will round out their fall slate at the Seven Sisters Championship next Sunday as they head back to Boston and the Charles River. The event will be hosted by Wellesley College at 10am.
