Rowing Opens Spring Season at Tufts

MEDFORD, Mass. - The Mount Holyoke College rowing team returned to the water for its first competition of the spring on Saturday, competing in races on the Malden River, site of home action for Tufts University. The Lyons boats saw solid action during the morning races, paced by the novice eight, which defeated the host Jumbos in its race.

The varsity eight boat opened with a second-place showing to Tufts with a time of 7:48.7. MHC went on to finish second in the Petite Final behind Hamilton with a time of 8:09.2.

The novice eight boat posted a time of 8:16.3 to wins its race ahead of Tufts.

Mount Holyoke continues its season next weekend when it heads to Worcester to compete on Lake Quinsigamond. Action begins on Sunday when the Lyons take on Clark, UVM, Simmons, Union, Hamilton.
