WORCESTER, Mass. - The Mount Holyoke rowing team opened its 2014-15 season in fine fashion on Saturday, competing at the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta, hosted by WPI, on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester. The Lyons had four boats in action at the event, including three that finished in the top-15. Among the top performances was the first varsity eight 'A' boat, which placed fifth overall in its race.
The varsity eight 'A' boat posted a time of 15:42.076 to finish fifth overall in a field of 26 boats. MHC's second varsity eight boat 'B' also had a great outing, placing 17th overall with a time of 16:51.474.
In the novice race, MHC's first novice eight 'A' was seventh overall in a field of 21 boats with a time of 19:05.696. The second novice eight boat 'B' was 15th overall in the event, posting a time of 20:53.564.
Mount Holyoke now turns its sights toward October 19 when it heads to Boston to compete at the 2014 Head of the Charles Regatta.
