SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The Mount Holyoke College track and field team was honored with All-Academic status by United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Lyons posted the second-highest grade point average among all Division III programs, either women's or men's.

MHC was one of 294 total teams recognized with All-Academic honors, and one of 183 women's programs to earn the accolade. Saint Vincent bested the Lyons with a GPA of 3.727 overall, just a .07 margin for the top GPA in the nation among Division III programs.

Led by 30th year head coach Tina Lee, the Lyons had a strong season, seeing a number of solid performances, including Minerva Veeser-Bobea '20, who led the way with 16 top-10 finishes in 2016-17.

The season was highlighted by the Lyons first Spring Fling Invitational meet in three years. A number of outstanding performances took place on the MHC Turf & Track, including victories from Mia Barnes '18 in the 10,000-meter run and Veeser-Bobea in the 200m dash.

Donari Yahzid '18 also had a strong campaign, qualifying at multiple meets for the New England Division III Championships in the long jump. She went on to compete in the event for the indoor season at the NE DIII's, finishing 16th overall.

As a team, the Lyons finished ninth overall at the NEWMAC Championships and saw seven student-athletes earn NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team recognition.
