Mount Holyoke was led by first year interim head coach Anthony Tranghese during the 2018 season as head coach Kanae Haneishi was on parental leave. The Lyons ended their 2018 campaign with a 3-12-2 overall record, going 1-9-0 in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action.

The Lyons opened up the season at home on September 1 with a solid 2-1 win over Simmons as senior Avia Jacobs scored in the 85th minute. Following a tough loss to nationally-ranked Amherst, the Lyons rebounded with a 1-0 win at Southern Vermont.

A pair of heartbreaking 2-1 losses followed against Western New England and Emerson, while the Lyons bounced back from a tough loss at Wesleyan with a 1-0 win over conference-rival Wellesley as senior goalie Amanda Manaster made eight saves while classmate Alex Kenoian banked in the game-winner in the ninth minute.

Mount Holyoke went on to earn a 1-1 double-overtime draw against Bay Path, but faced a tough stretch in conference action as they shouldered five straight losses. The Lyons battled to a 0-0 double-overtime draw against Rensselaer mid-October, but could not find the win column again over the final three games.

Overall, junior Hannah Finn-Erb led the team with nine points on three goals and three assists. Senior Dale Leonheart added two goals with a helper for five points, while junior McKenna Lamb had two goals for four points on the season.

In net, Manaster started all 17 games played, posting a 3-11-1 record. She had a 2.52 goals against average with a .798 save percentage. Over 1430:16 minutes played, Manaster made 158 saves to lead all NEWMAC goalies.

The Lyons were strong academically with 11 players making it onto the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team, while junior Abby Tuckett was tabbed to the conference's All-Sportsmanship Team.
