Golf Opens Play at Jack Leaman Invitational

AMHERST, Mass. (Apr. 20, 2013) - Day one of action at the 2013 Jack Leaman Invitational is in the books and through the First Round of play, the Mount Holyoke College golf team sits in 11th place. The Lyons are paced by sophomore Madi Mendiola, who is tied for 13th overall in the field of 64 golfers. Ithaca leads the field, which features 12 teams.

Mendiola shot an 82 on day one to get things going. She was followed by sophomore Hannah Falvey, who is 47th overall with a score of 95. Senior Lee Anglin sits in 57th overall with a mark of 108, while first years Hannah Lozinski and Katie Poulin are 59th (110) and 62nd (122), respectively.

Ithaca is the top team currently, posting a score of 320 through the opening round. New York University is second with a score of 323, while Williams is third overall with a score of 325. Mount Holyoke posted a First Round team score of 395. Individually, NYU's Elaine Tse leads the group of 64, posting a 77 on day one.

Action continues at the Jack Leaman on Sunday as the tournament shifts from Amherst to South Hadley. The field will play at The Orchards - Mount Holyoke's home course - beginning Sunday morning.
