Murphy Brings Strong Performance to One-Meter Board at 2022 NCAA Championships

Indianapolis, Ind. - March 17, 2022 - Mount Holyoke College senior Kathryn Murphy (Fairport, N.Y.) made her NCAA debut on Thursday afternoon, competing in the one-meter dive at the 2022 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships hosted the Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) Natatorium.

Murphy finished 27th overall in the field of 29 competitors with a total score of 336.95 points. She is the first student-athlete to compete at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships since 2018 when Samantha Nemivant '20 competed in the one and three-meter dives. 

Overall, Murphy was one of seven student-athletes that qualified as diving individuals from Region III. Joining Mutphy is Sydney Bluestein and Hannah Karlin from Amherst College, Adelaide Herman from Williams College, Rachel Loh from MIT, Issara Schmidt from NYU, and Sadie Smith from Bowdoin College.

Murphy returns to action on Saturday, March 19 where she will compete in the three-meter dive.
