Swimming and Diving Opens Competition at 2022 NEWMAC Championships
 

Cambridge, Mass. - February 17, 2022 - The Mount Holyoke College swimming and diving team opened competition at the 2022 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship on Thursday evening, as the Lyons began the four-day meet hosted at MIT's Zesiger Sport and Fitness Center and are currently tied for ninth overall.

The Lyons had a pair of teams competing in the only event of the night, the 800 freestyle relay, as the team of senior Adrienne Corr (San Diego, Calif.), sophomore Evelyn Bushway (Schenectady, N.Y.), first-year Hannah Heierhoff (Wiesbaden, Germany), and sophomore Eliza Williams (Andover, Mass.) produced a time of 8:18.16 to take ninth overall.

Mount Holyoke College's next team finished 20th overall, as the team of first-year Emily Tarinelli (Groton, Conn.), classmate Helen Frank (Rochester, N.Y.), sophomore Lily Nemirovsky (Bedford, Mass.), and senior Gigi Picard (Wilmette, Ill.) combined for a time of 8:50.18. 

The Lyons will return to the pool during the 10 a.m. morning session on Friday, February 18.
