#28 Squash Moves to 6-1 After Victory Over Northeastern

AMHERST, Mass. - The Mount Holyoke College squash team continued its winning ways on Saturday, besting Northeastern University in neutral site action at Amherst College. The Lyons improve to 6-1 with the victory.

Rookie Mihiliya Kalahe Arachchige grabbed victory from the top of the ladder, besting Isabelle Quarrier by an 11-2, 11-1, 11-1 margin. At two, senior Nadindhi Udangawa earned an 11-3, 11-3, 11-5 victory against Sophie Langlois. From three, senior Ragini Ghose recorded an 11-2, 11-7, 11-1 victory over Belkis Montas.

Four saw first year Maeve Watts-Roy earn a solid win, posting an 11-3, 11-8, 11-6 victory against Molly Blair, while at five, senior Lessly Portillo had a gutsy performance with a 12-10, 11-5, 14-12 win over Jessica Qiu. At six, sophomore Jennifer Mbah posted an 11-3, 11-9, 11-4 win against Isabelle Schlehr, while classmate Kuzivakwashe Madungwe bested Jennifer Jin, 11-4, 11-2, 11-5 at seven.

From eight, senior Tanishka Sachidanand defeated Eva King, 11-2, 11-1, 11-4, while sophomore Genesis Lara Granados wrapped up the victory with an 11-5, 11-5, 13-11 win against Samantha Yoon.

The Lyons return to action tomorrow when they travel to Hamilton College. MHC will take on St. Lawrence at 2pm, followed by the host Continentals at 4pm.
