#27 Squash Falls at #13 Williams

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Mount Holyoke played a tough match, but was unable to overcome a strong Williams College team, falling 8-1 on Sunday afternoon. With the victory, the #13 Ephs moved to 7-6 on the season, while the #27 Lyons shouldered just their third loss of the season and are now 8-3.

First year Mihiliya Kalahe Arachchige was the squad's only victor on the afternoon, battling from the top of the ladder for a convincing 11-5, 11-5, 11-7 win over Julia Ward. From two, Esther Baek got the best of senior Ragini Ghose despite two hard-fought games to open, grabbing the 11-9, 11-7, 11-2 win, while at three, rookie Maeve Watts-Roy shouldered a tough 11-2, 11-3, 11-0 loss to Sarah Willwerth.

Four saw Abigail LeBlanc defeat senior Lessly Portillo by an 11-6, 11-3, 11-3 margin, while from five, Melissa LeBlanc delivered an 11-5, 11-2, 11-5 victory over sophomore Jennifer Mbah.  The sixth spot saw Anna Nicholson best senior Tanishka Sachidanand 11-2, 11-4, 11-4, while sophomore Emma Robson shouldered an 11-4, 11-4, 11-0 loss to Kathryn Wright at seven.

Sophomore Genesis Lara Granados played at eight, suffering an 11-5, 11-4, 11-4 loss to Alexandra Pear, while Williams' Elizabeth Bower posted an 11-4, 11-4, 11-0 win over MHC's Nicole Lara Granados at nine.

Mount Holyoke returns to the court on Tuesday when it travels to Trinity College for a 1pm neutral site match against Connecticut College.
