BABSON PARK, Mass. -- Izzy Lynch assisted on Babson College's first goal and scored the second within the game's first 20 minutes, as the host and 19th-ranked Beavers defeated the Mount Holyoke College soccer team 4-0 in a NEWMAC game on Saturday.

Babson (9-3-1, 3-2-1 NEWMAC) outshot Mount Holyoke (1-12, 0-6 NEWMAC) by a 25-1 margin and had an 8-1 edge in corner kicks. Natalie Knauf, Sophia Bishop, and Jordyn Ferrantino also scored for the Beavers.

Mount Holyoke first-year goalkeeper Clarissa Govea (Pico Rivera, Calif.) made four first-half saves. Junior Shannon Breen (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) stopped six shots in a shutout second half for the Lyons.

Sophomore Hannah Keochakian (Amherst, Mass.) attempted Mount Holyoke's only shot in the game.

Ferrantino opened the scoring in the ninth minute when she headed Lynch's cross from the right wing back inside the right post. Babson doubled its lead in the 20th minute when Lynch ran onto a long ball over the top of the Mount Holyoke defense and finished past Govea. Knauf's header off a cross made it 3-0 in the 32nd minute and Bishop capped the four-goal first half in the 40th minute when she scored on a volley off a corner kick.

Mount Holyoke will host Nichols College on Monday at 5pm in a non-conference game.
