Soccer falls 2-0 in non-conference game at Keene State

KEENE, N.H. -- The Mount Holyoke College soccer team fell 2-0 in a non-conference game Tuesday afternoon at Keene State College.

Christina Sanders put the Owls (6-5-1) on the scoreboard in the 11th minute, knocking in the rebound after a shot by Joclynn Tyler bounced off the right post. Sanders later assisted Kayleigh Marshall's goal in the 49th minute.

First-year goalkeeper Clarissa Govea (Pico Rivera, Calif.) had nine saves, raising her NEWMAC-leading total to 80 on the season. Govea also ranks first in in the conference in saves per game (8.89). Keene State held a 24-5 advantage in shots attempted for the game.

Sonia Moritz made two saves, on shots by first-year Lyons Anna Kennedy (Glendale, Wis.) and Ada Siepmann (Vlotho, Germany), to earn the shutout for the Owls.

Mount Holyoke will host Wheaton College in a NEWMAC contest this Saturday at 12pm.
