The Mount Holyoke golf program kicked off a new era in 2011-12, as Tim Walko completed his first full season as head coach. First year Madi Mendiola made an immediate impact on the program with her outstanding play from the outset. The rookie racked up five top ten finishes and posted the second best scoring average in school history (81.27). She ended the season ranked 12th in the region.
Led by first year Madi Mendiola, Mount Holyoke closed out its 2011-12 campaign with a seventh place finish at the Williams Spring Invitational this weekend. Mendiola fired a 166 to secured eighth place overall.

A total of 11 squads participated in the two round tournament, which took place at the Dutchess Golf and Country Club (par 72 - 5,805 yards). A total of 11 teams and 56 individuals competed in the tournament, which was hosted by the Taconic Golf Club (par 71 – 5,826 yards). Mendiola took home fifth place overall with her two-day score of 160 (81, 79).
Williams grabbed top honors at the 36th annual Mount Holyoke Invitational this weekend. A total of 16 teams and 79 individuals participated in the tournament at The Orchards Golf Club. The Lyons were paced by first year Madi Mendiola, who secured seventh place overall.
First years Madi Mendiola and Rebecca Berger paced Mount Holyoke in its 2011-12 debut at the New York University Invitational this weekend. Mendiola took home 13th place overall with her two-day total of 164.
