CHANDLER, Ariz. – The 2015 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-Region Teams have been announced and four Mount Holyoke College student-athletes were recognized on the All-New England East Region squad. Liz DiCesare, Sarah LaQuerre and Ruvimbo Mushavi were First Team honorees, while Charlotte Wagner was tabbed to the Second Team. This is the third All-Region honor for for LaQuerre and DiCesare, the second for Mushavi and the first for Wagner.

Additionally, the Lyons three First Team selections were the most for any institution in the East Region. NEWMAC-rivals Babson and Wellesley had two each on the First Team, while MIT, Smith and Springfield each had one.

Honored for the third straight season was LaQuerre, a senior midfielder and captain from Old Orchard Beach Maine, who posted six goals and nine assists for 21 points as a starter in all 22 games. She notched 58 shots, including 40 on goal and ranked second on the squad in assists. This is the first recognition to the First Team for LaQuerre, who has been honored twice previously on the Second Team.

A graduate of Cheverus High School, LaQuerre has been a critical factor to the Lyons success in her career, scoring 15 goals with 28 assists over 80 games played. A three-time NEWMAC All-Conference honoree, including First Team each of the last two years, she will graduate as the 14th-leading scorer in program history.

Mushavi, a junior defender and captain who hails from Harare, Zimbabwe, earned her spot on the First Team after serving as a constant and powerful defensive presence for a Lyons squad that recorded a NEWMAC-best 198 saves on the season, as well as eight defensive saves, which also led the conference. MHC also ranked 16th and 37th in save percentage (.837) and goals against average (1.43), respectively, amongst all Division III schools.

Additionally, the former Arundel School standout played a critical role in the Lyons success during the NEWMAC Tournament, leading a backline that surrendered just two goals. Mushavi also scored the game-winning goal in MHC's 1-0 double-overtime win against Babson in the Semifinals on Saturday. A NEWMAC All-Conference First Team honoree this season, Mushavi was an All-Region Second Team selection in 2014.

Rounding out the First Team honorees was DiCesare, a junior goalie out of Westford, Mass. One of the nation's top keepers, she owned a 14-7 record and ranked eighth in Division III in save percentage with an .847 clip. She was also 34th in the nation in goals against average with a 1.32. DiCesare made a NEWMAC-best 149 saves on the season over 1431:32 minutes of action. Among the NEWMAC leaders, DiCesare ranked second in shutouts (7) and save percentage, third in wins and fourth in goals against average.

DiCesare earned NEWMAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors at this year's event after stopping a season-high 19 shots in a 2-1 shootout win over Wellesley in the championship game. Two of her 19 saves also came on penalty strokes during regulation and the first overtime. All told, DiCesare made 45 saves in three games, including 15 against MIT and 11 against Babson.

This is the third year-end honor for the former Bishop Guertin High School standout, who was a First Team selection and All-America Third Team honoree in 2014. DiCesare was a NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team selection this season, garnering her third straight conference honor.

A junior forward from West Chester, Pa., Wagner earned her first All-Region honor after an outstanding season that saw her lead the NEWMAC in goals (19), points (50), shots (104) and shots on goal (68). She also ranked second among the conference leaders in assists with 12. Wagner posted five game-winning tallies on the year. Among her top performances came during the NEWMAC Championship, where she scored the lone goal in regulation and posted the game-winner in the shootout as the Lyons won their third conference title.

The former Westtown School graduate was a constant offensive threat for the Lyons in 2015, scoring at least one goal in 11 games, including two games with four goals. Her outstanding numbers moved her up the ladder in a number of program history categories, now ranking third all-time in career assists (32) and fifth in goals (42) and points (120).

Mount Holyoke concluded its season with a 15-7 overall record, going 5-3 in NEWMAC play. The Lyons, who were the fifth-seed in the conference playoffs, defeated fourth-seeded MIT (2-1), top-seeded Babson (1-0 in 2OT) and second-seeded Wellesley (2-1 in shootout) to win its third NEWMAC title in program history.

The Lyons earned the conference's automatic qualifying bid into the NCAA Tournament, making their third straight appearance in the Big Dance. MHC fell by a tough 3-1 margin to Stevens Institute of Technology in the First Round.
