With 17^th year head coach Aldo Santiago leading the way, the Mount Holyoke tennis team qualified for the NEWMAC Tournament for the sixth straight season. The Lyons suffered a 5-3 setback to Smith College in the Quarterfinal Round. They closed out their 2009-10 campaign with an overall record of 10-11 and a league mark of 3-4.

During the fall portion of its schedule, Mount Holyoke accumulated a record of 4-7. In addition to notching a 5-4 triumph over non-conference foe Simmons College, the Lyons picked up victories over NEWMAC rivals MIT (5-4), Clark University (9-0) and Springfield College (8-1). They had fallen in each of the previous 19 meetings with MIT dating back to the 1990-91 season.

Junior Natalie Hsiang and sophomore Sarah Moore were named to the NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team after sprinting to a 6-1 mark in league matches.

Mount Holyoke wrapped up its season with 10 matches in the spring. After returning from their spring break trip in Puerto Rico, the Lyons clinched third place at the Seven Sisters Championship with 3-2 triumphs over Bryn Mawr College and Smith College. They then closed out their year with consecutive victories over RPI (5-4), Roger Williams University (9-0) and Union College (7-2).

Over the course of the season, senior Sarah London piled up 11 singles victories. Sophomore Heather Richardson collected 10, while first year Carly Peltier added eight. The Lyons also received solid production from first years My-Linh Nguyen and Nahrhee Han, who finished with seven and six wins, respectively.

Hsiang and Moore closed out the year with a 13-6 doubles mark. Of their 13 wins, eight came at the number two slot. London and Nguyen joined forces in the spring, posting a 6-2 record. London also teamed with Peltier to record five doubles wins in the fall.
