Tennis Team Garners ITA National Academic Honors

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (August 24, 2010) – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recently announced its All-Academic Teams as well as its Scholar Athletes for the 2009-10 season. Five members of the Mount Holyoke College women's tennis squad were named Scholar Athletes. In addition, the program picked up All-Academic Team accolades.

Mount Holyoke's five Scholar Athletes were senior Rose Cantlin, junior Natalie Hsiang, senior Sarah London, first year My-Linh Nguyen and first year Carly Peltier.

In order to earn Scholar Athlete status, a student-athlete must be a varsity letter recipient, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year and have been enrolled at her institution for at least two semesters. To qualify as All-Academic Teams, a program must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20.
