  • 2011-12 Riding Year in Review

    With longtime head coach C.J. Law leading the way, the Mount Holyoke riding team maintained its reputation as one of the top programs in the country in 2011-12. The Lyons returned to the IHSA National Championships, taking fourth place overall. They finished atop the Zone 1, Region 3 standings and later secured the Zone 1 High Point Championship.

    Mount Holyoke rounded out its 2011-12 campaign with a fourth place finish at the IHSA National Championship Horse Show this weekend. A total of 15 teams from around the nation competed in the event, which was hosted by the Hunt Horse Complex.
  • Riding Punches Ticket to IHSA National Championships

    Mount Holyoke punched its ticket to the IHSA National Championships with a dominant performance at the Zone 1 Championships today. This year's Nationals are slated to take place in Raleigh, N.C. from May 3-6. The Lyons will be making their fourth straight appearance and their 21st under the direction of longtime head coach C.J. Law.
  • Mount Holyoke Riders Compete in Regional Championships

    Eighteen riders represented Mount Holyoke today at the Zone 1, Region 3 Regional Championships at Hadley Farms. As a result of their performances at the show, a total of six Lyons qualified for next weekend's Zone 1 Championships. The group includes Paulina Erni, Felicia Harrsch, Alexa Lohrer, Kristen Engholm and Rebecca Hicks.
  • Swanson Adds Lyon of the Week Award to Trophy Case

    Senior Margaret Swanson has earned the Lyon of the Week Award after leading the riding team to its eighth High Point Championship of the season on Saturday at Sycamore Stables. In the process, the Lyons secured their fourth straight Zone 1, Region 3 Championship. Swanson was named High Point Rider for the second week in a row.
  • Riding Clinches Regional Championship With Eighth High Point Title of Season

    Mount Holyoke closed out its regular season with a bang, grabbing High Point honors at Sycamore Stables today. With their eighth title of the season, the Lyons secured their fourth straight Zone 1, Region 3 Championship. They finished 57 points in front of the UMass in the final regional standings.

    With senior Margaret Swanson leading the way, Mount Holyoke rolled to a resounding victory in front of its home crowd today. The Lyons piled up 17 blue ribbons en route to their seventh High Point Championship of the season.

    Mount Holyoke kicked off the spring portion of its season with an outstanding performance at the UMass Horse Show today. Led by sophomore Alexa Lohrer, the Lyons claimed their sixth High Point Championship with 34 points. Lohrer was named High Point Rider.
  • Riding Takes Tournament of Champions Crown With Dominant Performance at Winter Classic

    Mount Holyoke took home top honors at the prestigious Tournament of Champions Winter Classic today at Hazelwind Farm. As a result of their performance at the event, the Lyons also secured first place in the final Tournament of Champions standings for the season. It was their fifth title overall and their first since 2007.

    With sophomores Eleanor Maynard and Felicia Harrsch leading the way, Mount Holyoke grabbed Reserve High Point honors at the prestigious Holiday Tournament of Champions Horse Show today. The Lyons finished the day with 35 points.

    With sophomore Flynn Vickowski leading the way, Mount Holyoke closed out the fall portion of its 2011-12 slate with a first place performance in front of its home crowd today. The Lyons piled up 15 blue ribbons en route to their fourth High Point Championship of the season.
  • Riding Earns Reserve Championship at Amherst Show

    Mount Holyoke finished as Reserve Champions at the Amherst Horse Show today. A total of six teams from around the region participated in the event, which took place at Biscuit Hill Farm. UMass grabbed top honors with a score of 43 points. The Lyons were next with 39.
  • Pittman Leads Riding to High Point Title at UMass

    Led by sophomore Ella Pittman, Mount Holyoke cruised to its third straight High Point Championship today at the University of Massachusetts Horse Show. Pittman was named High Point Rider after winning her sections of the intermediate fences and novice flat divisions. The Lyons totaled eight blue ribbons.
  • Riding Comes Up With Dominant Performance at Home Show

    Following the lead of senior Margaret Swanson, Mount Holyoke cruised to a High Point Championship in its first home show of the season today. Swanson finished the day as High Point Rider after taking first place in her sections of the open flat and open fences divisions. As a team, the Lyons piled up 21 blue ribbons.
  • Lohrer and Shortt Lead Mount Holyoke to High Point Championship at Smith Show

    Led by sophomore Alexa Lohrer and first year Madeline Shortt, Mount Holyoke sprinted to a High Point Championship today at the Smith Intercollegiate Horse Show. The Lyons took home 10 blue ribbons on their way to a score of 41. They finished in a deadlock with the UMass at the top of the standings.
  • Riding Kicks off 2011-12 Campaign at Preseason Tournament of Champions

    Mount Holyoke kicked off its 2011-12 campaign with a seventh place finish at the prestigious Preseason Tournament of Champions Horse Show today. Twenty teams representing 15 colleges from around the nation were present at the first installment of the three-part Tournament of Champions series. This year’s event took place at the Otterbein Equestrian Center in Westerville, Ohio.
  • Ridng Reveals 2011-12 Schedule

    The Mount Holyoke riding team will once again take on one of the most challenging schedules in the nation in 2011-12. In addition to their eight regional shows, the Lyons will also take part in the Tournament of Champions. Their quest for national supremacy will begin at the Preseason Tournament of Champions in Baltimore, Md. on Saturday, September 25.
