Selkin Brings Strong Performance to NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships

Louisville, Ky. - November 20, 2021 - Standout junior Lauren Selkin (Greenwich, Conn.) traveled to compete in the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country National Championships, hosted at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday afternoon. 

Selkin finished 48th overall out of 292 runners with a time of 21:56.8 on the 6k course. She is the first-ever student-athlete from Mount Holyoke College to qualify for the NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships.

Selkin ran a strong race coming through the 3k mark in 10:38.9 which marks a personal-best 3k performance for the Neuroscience and Behavior major. She continued to push coming through the 5k mark in 18:04.2, just 21 seconds off of her 5k personal record. Selkin battled until the end, clocking in an overall time of 21:56.8.
