The Mount Holyoke College cross country team once again had another strong season in 2014, under the direction of fourth-year head coach Jennifer Adams. The Lyons ran to four top-10 finishes and were 33rd or better in all seven meets.

MHC was paced by sophomore Becca Rogers, who was the Lyons' top runner in all seven races during the season, highlighted by Seven Sisters All-Tournament Team honors and NEWMAC All-Conference recognition in back-to-back races.

Rogers helped kick-off the 2014 season at the Smith College Invitational, finishing sixth overall to lead the Lyons to fourth overall as a team in the field of 16 schools. Mount Holyoke then headed to the Purple Valley Classic at Williams College, finishing 12th of 24 schools in the very competitive meet. Rogers once again led the way, finishing 38th overall in the field of 267 participants.

The Lyons then headed to the Keene State Invitational, which saw Rogers finish fourth overall, to guide Mount Holyoke to a fifth-place finish in the field of 14. For her efforts, Rogers was named the co-NEWMAC Runner of the Week.

After a solid showing at the Open New England Championships, Mount Holyoke kicked-off the final stretch of competition, beginning with the Seven Sisters Championship at the Kendall Sports and Dance Complex. Behind a sixth-place finish from Rogers, the Lyons were fourth overall in the field of seven, just a mere point out of third and even fewer points out of second-place in the competitive field.

The Lyons then took fifth at the NEWMAC Championship as Rogers placed ninth overall to garner All-Conference honors and was one of three MHC runners to finish in the top 30. The season concluded at the NCAA New England Championship as Mount Holyoke finished 19th of 57 teams. Rogers paced the MHC effort in that race once again, crossing the line in 68th out of 387 runners.

The Lyons also continued to shine academically as junior Elizabeth DeLeon, senior Dana Fry and sophomores Emma Tolerton and Brianna Weir were all named to the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team.
