Volleyball evens record with 3-0 sweep at Dean

FRANKLIN, Mass. -- First-year middle hitter Elle Rimando had 11 kills on 16 attempts to lead the Mount Holyoke College volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-9, 25-12, 25-22) non-conference victory at Dean College on Thursday evening.

Rimando (Mililani, Hawaii) made just one attack error to register a .625 attack percentage for the match. She ranks fourth in the NEWMAC with a .377 attack percentage on the young season.

Sari Albury led the host Bulldogs (2-6) with 11 kills on 15 attempts (.667).

First-year Sadie Duffrin (Minneapolis, Minn.) paced the offense with 20 assists and added five digs and a kill. First-year Madeline Barton (Brookfield, Wis.) added five kills, a team-high five service aces and nine digs, and senior McKenna Crosby (Jonesborough, Tenn.) had five kills as well. Sophomore libero Lucie Berclaz (Hull, Mass.) shared the team lead with nine digs and added four aces.

The Lyons currently lead the NEWMAC with 3.93 aces per set.

Mount Holyoke (4-4) resumes NEWMAC play at home against MIT on Saturday at noon.
