Springfield, Mass. - April 27, 2022 - Despite singles victories for Annika Chai (London, England) and Hannah Middleton (Pawcatuck, Conn.), the Mount Holyoke College tennis team fell to Springfield, 7-2, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play on Wednesday at the Appleton Courts.

Chai delivered a convincing 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 1 singles spot, while Middleton played at No. 4 singles and defeated Taylor Suozzo 6-3, 4-6, 10-8. Chai improved to 6-6 in singles play, including a 4-3 mark against league opponents, while Middleton picked up a fifth win of the season.

Up next, Mount Holyoke will travel to Emerson for their final regular-season contest on Saturday, April 30 at 12 p.m.
