Huang Named NEWMAC Women's Tennis Singles Athlete of the Week

South Hadley, Mass. - March 2, 2020 - Senior Ching-Ching Huang (Lukang Township, Taiwan) of the Mount Holyoke College tennis team has been selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Tennis Singles Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Huang, a senior Computer Science and Mathematics double major at Mount Holyoke College, has had a great start to 2020, picking up a pair of wins over Vassar's Miriam Gandham and Bates' Hannah Sweeney over the past two weekends. In the match versus Vassar College, Huang posted a 6-3, 6-3 win over Gandham, who was No. 12 in Division III at the time, earning the senior UTR/ITA National Player of the Week honors. This past Saturday versus Bates, the Lukang Township, Taiwan native took down Sweeney, who was the top player for the nationally-ranked Bobcats.

Up next, Mount Holyoke College will travel to Connecticut College on Sunday, March 8. The match is slated for 10 a.m.
