Methsarani Advances to Consolation Finals of CSA Individual National Championships

Philadelphia, Pa. - March 7, 2020 - Sophomore Mihiliya Methsarani (Panadura, Sri Lanka) of the Mount Holyoke College squash team had an impressive performance at the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual National Championships on Saturday, as she knocked off Yale's Gigi Yeung in the consolation semifinals of the Holleran Cup South Division.

It only took three games for Methsarani to defeat Yeung, as the sophomore, who lost her opening match of the tournament, battled back with wins over Sanna Koivumaki and Yeung to advance to the consolation finals. Methsarani won by the scores of 11-9, 11-6, 11-7 and will now advance to take on Sydney Maxwell from the University of Virginia.

Methsarani will take on Maxwell on Sunday, March 8 at 9:30 a.m.
