South Hadley, Mass. - March 5, 2020 - Standout sophomore Mihiliya Methsarani (Panadura, Sri Lanka) will represent Mount Holyoke College at the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual National Championships, hosted at the University of Pennsylvania this weekend.

Methsarani, who currently holds an individual record of 16-4, will play in the Holleran Cup B Division South and will square off with Jane Pincus of Columbia on Friday, March 6 at 3:30 p.m. The winner will take on the victor between Sanna Koivumaki of St. Lawrence and Mariam Mansoor of Colby. Earlier this season, Methsarani defeated Koivumaki in three games (11-8, 11-6, 11-9) and also knocked off Mansoor in three games (11-9, 11-7, 11-4).

It has been quite the season for Methsarani, who is riding a 12-match win streak heading into the weekend. Of the 20 matches she has played this season, none was more impressive than when Methsarani took down Alexa Jacobs of Brown University for the second-consecutive year, cruising to an 11-4, 11-6, 11-7 win on January 26. In November, Methsarani took her talents to international competition, where she helped lead her home country of Sri Lanka to a bronze medal at the 13th Annual South Asian Games, hosted in Nepal from December 1 through December 11.
