THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke welcomes Springfield College on Wednesday for the 36th time in program history, dating back to the 1998-99 season that saw the Pride take a 56-47 victory. Springfield currently holds a 5-30 advantage in the series. The Lyons most recent success came in 2012 where MHC upended the Pride in double overtime for an 86-82 win.

THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (2-5 overall; 0-2 NEWMAC) is coming off of a 65-21 loss to MIT last weekend. First year guard Katlyn Grover led the Lyons with seven points, while fellow classmate and guard Kathryn Violette notched four points, five boards, and three assists. For the year, senior forward and captain Xajaah Williams-Flores leads the team with 10.8 points per game and 8.7 rebounds. Violette is the second leading scorer, averaging 9.9 points and a team-best 3.0 assists.

THE PRIDE: Springfield (3-2 overall; 1-0 NEWMAC) enters the game after an 83-53 victory over Wellesley in its conference opener last Saturday. Senior center Ava Adamopoulos tied her career-high with 25 points on 8-of-11 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds off the bench. Fellow classmate Molly McCausland also turned in a strong game with 10 points, four assists, and three steals. On the season, Adamopoulos leads the team with 16.8 points per game and nine rebounds, while senior guard Danielle Racette leads the team with 2.8 assists a game.

NEXT UP: Mount Holyoke will hit the hardwood again on Saturday at 1:00pm where it will face University of Saint Joseph on the road. Springfield will also be in action on Saturday, facing Worcester State at home starting at 1:00pm.
